Reparations

I see that the latest British Prime Minister has suggested that his government might be prepared to pay 'climate reparations' to developing countries that claim to have suffered environmental distress as a result of Western industrialisation. This at a time of high inflation and massive increase of energy prices at home. But I say fine. Let's do this. However, there should be a little proviso that the countries rewarded in this fashion do not avail themselves of any of the advances associated with the Industrial Revolution including, but not restricted to, cars, fertilisers, medical advancements, electricity and any product made in a factory.

Taking this further, Britain needs to pay reparations to its former colonies but, of course, the same rules would apply. These ex-colonies should not be so hypocritical as to take advantage of any of the benefits brought by the West. And if Britain needs to fund this it should naturally go to Italy (Rome) and France (Normandy) to seek its own reparations.

Just a thought.

Note: My blog must be more widely read than I thought. Reparations have apparently been ruled out according to a report in the Daily Telegraph published an hour after this post went live.

"And thus, Glaucon, the tale has been saved and has not perished, and will save us if we are obedient to the word spoken; and we shall pass safely over the river of Forgetfulness and our soul will not be defiled. Wherefore my counsel is that we hold fast ever to the heavenly way and follow after justice and virtue always, considering that the soul is immortal and able to endure every sort of good and every sort of evil. Thus shall we live dear to one another and to the gods, both while remaining here and when, like conquerors in the games who go round to gather gifts, we receive our reward. And it shall be well with us both in this life and in the pilgrimage of a thousand years which we have been describing."

It is heard more and more in the streets, calls for tighter controls on democracy.

The best stories always have such endings.

@William - There are now more and ever-more schemes for destroying England's people and culture - deliberately and strategically: and here is today's idea.

Mass immigration, lock-downs, inflation, bureaucracy, destruction of infrastructure, energy 'sanctions', the 'green' agenda, affirmative action, the sexual revolution, military provocations by interventions and sabotage overseas... As I often say - destruction is easy, and can-be/ is-being pursued simultaneously on multiple fronts.

At one time there could perhaps be a degree of doubt that it was the intended destruction of England and other Western countries that lay behind many of the changes of the modern era. But there can no longer be the slightest shadow of doubt that this is the agenda. The gloves have been taken off and the naked truth revealed. People still won't see it and the reason is they cannot bring themselves to belleve that there is such a thing as a spiritual war and they are in the middle of it.

Hey we Americans have outdone you in clownery. A dead man has won a House seat in PA and an incoherent stoke victim who can barely string a sentence together will serve in the Senate. This w/ a President who can barely remember where he is. It's funny in a dark way. The corpse in the House is a perfect reflection of the modern world.

While political elections are useless in the overall scheme of things, I think they can reveal a lot about character. For example, even most professional pollsters were shocked that college educated white women (my demographic) would prioritize child sacrifice over the economy. Yes, inflation is through the roof and we're at risk of nuclear war w/ fire nation. Never mind, the sexual revolution must continue even if it destroys the world.

It's ridiculous to have given this much space to elections. However, I'll admit I voted yesterday simply to stop the tide of the child peck shot mandates. Yes, lesser of two evils is still evil. However, I felt obligated to try and protect the children from the peck shots. No matter. None of the people who pushed the birdemic agenda have paid a price. Americans would rather risk freezing this winter rather than give up their right to child sacrifice and the sexual revolution. That is the ultimately spiritual problem. A Caesar cannot save us from ourselves.

It is, as you say, a spiritual problem and can only be addressed spiritually. That will not have much of a positive material benefit as things are too far gone for that but it will have a benefit in the only area that really counts.

The current incumbent in the White House reminds me of the character Wither in That Hideous Strength. C.S Lewis was undoubtedly prescient. Wither is the head of the N.I.C.E., the technocratic body that is the focus for evil in the book. He is well described in Wikipedia as " a servant of the Macrobes (demons). Long association with them has "withered" his mind, and his speech and thinking are characterised by thought-deadening vagueness and jargon."

And Wither sometimes exclaimed, "God bless my soul!" And our president says he is a Catholic.
